...Grateful...
Happy Cesar Chavez Day!!! let us not forget about the Pilipinos who were with him and Mexican farm workers that joined him for the union. Anyway, my day consisted of wasting time watching tv and a little bit of studying for 3 exams coming up this Friday. I had work from 3:15-7:15 (more of 7:20) and that didn't suck much since it didn't go by as slow as other days.
Anyway, when I got home my parents were watching my mom's TFC tapes and I thought that it's just nice to see them like that. I guess tonight's one of those rare times I have that I get to stop and think about what I have in life now.
Now that I thought about some of the things I have, I want to say that I'm grateful to have loving parents because they're always there for us kids. I know that our relationship with them could be better through more communication regarding our lives, but I guess it's good the way it is now. There are other things that I kind of wish that can be different like our way of saying we love each other and all, but we know that we are loved and they know that we love them. Plus, it's not too late to say it directly right?!..just gotta take time..but it's better to say them now than later. But yeah, I ended up wathching a little bit of the show "Khris and Korina" w/ them and the topic was about Pilipinos trying to get out of Philippines to find better opportunities.
Dad then said that we're really lucky that we're here now because back then, the requirement to get here in the "states" was at least 15 years of experience @ the base to be a special immigrant w/o any bad records. My dad had 15 yrs. and 6 months of experience and we were lucky and BLESSED to have been able to come here bec. after we arrived here, they changed it to 20 yrs. of experience and @ that time, the base was already closed. So that made me think that even though I was too young to understand why we had to move here, I now comprehend the struggles we would have faced if we were still living there. Philippines is a great and wonderful country that's abundant with natural resources, but it's just the fact that the Pilipinos living there have no control over them due mostly to foreigners being in control of them. Just like what Tuyay lectured in class, the Japanese have all these technological products and cars like Honda, Toyota?, Sony and all that, while Pilipinos have SoEn, Jufran, Sky Flakes, Mang Tomas, and etc. Then again, who can blame them when our country Philippines have a history of colonization. I just hope someday that our country would someday have that "American Dream" and learn to be prouder of our culture and not exactly "Americanize" the country.
Hah..ah well..just a thought I have in mind. Well, 2 more days and Spring Break here I come!! ;D What to do besides work?! HmMmM..Ok then..that's all for now! take care as always! and God Bless!! :)

...It's Hot and Praise God!...
Ack! I woke up this morning with the sun so bright that I thought I was LATE for class again. I looked at my watch and it was only 6:20 and I had set my alarm to go off at 6:50 since my class starts at 8. Hahaha..I thought "Man! was it time to change the time? cause no one told me!!" So I looked at my phone, my watch, and went downstairs to watch the news just to make sure it was really still 6! Oh man! hahaha! But it was cool cause it's better to wake up early than later like last Friday. Anyways, my weekend was AWESOME! :D Saturday, I woke up earlier than usual and headed to Mary Anne's house. I left the van there and she drove us to get gas and to St. Michaels to meet up w/ the rest of the people going to Youth Rally. There was A LOT of us that went! About 80!! and so we had a charter bus and about 4 cars?! I rode w/ Mary Anne and along w/ us were Amie, Ethel, and Gerard. Overall, it was Great! My relationship with God had been strengthen and I've learned new things which I love. I wish all of my friends could have gone because you never know if that one time and one day may change your life :D I met these 2 ladies that were pretty fun during the workshops and I went to confession w/ Daisy. I'm glad that she went and I know that God has touched her life :D So overall, Youth Rally was great! We may not have won the Spirit Award, but it was still cool! We won it last year and it was time for others to enjoy the prize ;D I believe it was between us and the youth group that won though, but congratulations to them cause they deserve it! :) Oh yeah! The people in Mary Anne's car and in Lei's went to McD to get some food at this really nice McDs! Asian style influenced w/ automatic doors and free video games! hahah! wow! "Maybe Bill Gates Made it!"..lol! But Praise God for everything! :)
Anyway, yesterday, I woke up rejuvenated! I had that "Wow! I had a good sleep" feeling! :) My cousin Moe came over and I drove us to AMC Promonade and watched Secret Window. I don't recommend the movie and we should'ved just watched Eternal Sunshine. Maybe next time though! And after that, we went to stores to do some errands and I'm going to stop my shopping there for the next 2 weeks I hope. Mother had a fever and a stomach ache yesterday so I bought her a thermometer and I called her at work this morning to see how she is. She's fine now but I think she may still have her stomach ache. Oh yeah! breakfast this morning was great too! hehe :) My "smiling plan" came about! Not the way I wanted it to or thought about, but I guess that'll work for now. But I know that he probably gets that a lot and will just forget about this since it's just one of the others he gets! haha..but I'm satisfied :D hahah...Thanks Eliza for sharing the joy! LOL! :D Well, I guess that is all! Oo I have 3 tests coming up before Spring Break so time to study study study! HmMm..I should do that tomorrow! So I guess that's it! take care everyone and enjoy the hot day! hehe :)
Anyways

...A Lesson...
The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children. The
teacher asked a little boy:
TEACHER: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God?
TOMMY: No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there.
He doesn't exist.
A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some
questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy:
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss (getting tired of the questions by this time).
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do! you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school,
she must not have one!

...Sick...
And yes, I am sick once again! Sucks! I'm going to take Lj's advice one of these days and soon! I have to remember to take my vitamin C as the doctor recommended last time, but hard headed me dont' do so or I just forget about it all the time. Anyway, I had breakfast w/ Jerome, Maryanne, Eliza, and Buman at 'lil frogs and it was cool :) I went to my Asian Am. History class and we went over one of the packet about Pilipino Americans. There was this one part when we were talking about the organizations mentioned in the packet and there was one that was in tagalog. Then our proff. Tuyay was all.."Okay! here goes..who knows how to say this?" Of course, me knowing how to speak tagalog, raised my hand a long w/ 2 others to volunteer to say it. So he told me to go ahead and I said it. It was funny cause after saying it, the class were all OoOo..hahah..funny stuff! and he made me say it again..lol! That was pretty interesting and fun! haha. You know, now in college, you don't get discriminated as much for speaking another language like tagalog compared to back in high school. I'm glad that I didn't go through the discrimination others did for speaking tagalog, and if I did, maybe it was behind my back cause I don't remember ever going throught it. Hahah..the friends made fun of me for fobbing out or what not, which is natural..cause I still do here and there, but other than that, everything's dandy! haha.
Anyways, after my last class, I headed on to Blockbuster to rent movies for my research project in the same class. Funny cause I spent at least 1 hour there just trying to find movies and in the end I did. The bonus date is on Friday so I'm hoping to be able to watch all 5 by Friday and write 1 page critiques about them. So I guess that's all for now! :D Have a good rest of the week and take care!!! OoOo! Youth Rally is this Saturday! Sorry I won't be able to drive, but the drive w/ Mary Anne should be fun stuff! :) And Eliza, you know I'll be celebrating your wonderful bday in spirit! :)
...Life...
As the title of the blog, I haven't really written about my life as it is. Plus, I haven't really written a pesonal topic here. I guess cause I rarely have them. But anyways, after going through my lows lately, this day helps me bring me back up to my high or to how I feel normally. So I thank the posse for a fun filled night even if you guys didn't know that I was going through my 'lil phase. You know, laughter helps cure the soul! So if you guys don't laugh a lot, it's time for you to do so cause one, you lose calories, and two, it's a stress relief! :) Today is a slow but big step or turning point of the phase I've been going through lately. Yes, no one really knew about what's going in w/ 'lil 'ol me, but I learned that there are certain things that I should talk about and not keep in. Here's something I typed up last night and would like to share it:
-Why-
Why? Why do I feel this way?
I don't exactly know how I feel, but I know that it's the cause of my insecurities.
I've never felt this way, but I guess it's myself's way of realizing I need to change.
Change how I look to help mold myself back into it's content self.
DAMN! I'm messed up
Not completely, but I'm getting there.
I'm not focused in anything I do and my laziness is kicking in.
I'm ending up dropping chemistry and I feel like it's going to push me back...
I'm going to just end up being a waste of time for the teacher and a waste of space.
Someone more deserving of the seat I took would have benefit that person the class.
So I'm sorry for whoever that person maybe.
But thank you to my friends that gave me motivation.
I know it came late, but it's my fault for holding back.
I just never know when to open up since I'm not an open person.
I'd rather my friends tell me what's on their mind and help them than me burden them with my worries.
But thank you! thank you once again because you got me to start my engines again.
Slowly I'll get there, but I know I'll need motivation here and there.
Please don't let me be this way again..
It sucks to be in this phase, but I guess it's something that I have to go through.
God doesn't put us in situations we can't handle, and this wasn't too drasctic.
I lost one class, but I'm building my friendship :)
I'll get there, I'll certainly will.
Though I may not exactly find out why this had to happen,
I'll accept it and learn from it.
Challenges makes us stronger, and without them, we won't learn.
So that's pretty much self explanatory, and yes Jerome, I decided to drop the class because it was also holding me back. And it holding me back will end result to me being held back more in school. But it's okay cause I'm not in a rush and want to do good in my classes... But before you even brought up the idea that if I were to drop chem that I'll be working out w/ you on Tuesdays, I decided that I'll be going to the base w/ Buman to start with. So if you want, you and Azel can go w/ us and that should be fun, but thank you for some of your encouragement. Also to Lj! I'm learning to strengthen our friendship and all of my friendships. And to Jen my mullet lover partna and Beejay in Manila..thanks for the encouragement.
Anyways, enough of the drama. So, it's the every other Tuesday get together, and EVERYONE was there!!! :D I'm soOo happy! Of course, we made our signs for Maelove and thank you everyone for particitpating! And as usual, full of laughter and stories to share! I'm so grateful for these friends and my girl friends that I have! because they help me be the way I am....haha..should that be a good thing?! jk. But yeah, funny cause no one seemed to be able to leave and so towards the end, we all left at the same time w/c was cool.
Overall, it was an awesome day!!! "Let's play video games and maybe we'll see nuts!" hahahah! Fun Stuff I tell ya!!! But the fire place wasn't really giving off heat! hahaha..oh wells, it was still great! :) Thanks everyone! and Here's pictures taken so enjoy!

...New Template...
Yes! I've been working on this new template instead of reviewing for my upcoming test. Sucks ass cause lately, I'm losing motivation regarding school. I still go, but I'm not as motivated as I was back then. It's a problem, and I need to solve it fast! I'm probably going to drop my Chem. class though I don't really want to cause I'm already half way there, but yet it was my fault for screwing that class up in the first place. If I'm going to waste it, I just wasted a space there that will probably benefit someone else that wanted to get in the class. Maybe I just need the Spring Break. Well, hope you guys like the new template whoever still goes on here. I look cockeyed on the last pic by the way...*knock on elbow*.
Take care! and I'm sorry Che that I didn't get to go to your surprise bday party :( Yet another cause of my laziness and lack of motivation. :/

...Lately....
So have I been up to lately? Well, Saturday was the GNO w/ the ladies and as usual, it was a blast! haha does anyone still use that word? Anyway, after work, I got directions to where they were at since the ice cream place idea was shot down since I guess everyone just wanted some real food. I was the last to be there, but I didn't have to worry about ordering since I shared w/ Tep and she ordered before I got there. Food: $100+?, Gas: $2.19 a gallon, Waitress being mad: $8 (hah), Getting to see your high school friends for a get togehter: PRICELESS ;) After eating, we all headed our separate ways since we couldn't really think of anything to do. But since I had time on my hands and so did Jen, Jodie, and Tep, we all decided to head on to the ice cream place, but since it was a Saturday night, parking was hard to find. So we ended up going to the Real World San Diego house and took pictures there. Haha..I felt like a rebel! hahah jk! But it was fun sneaking in! Lol! ;) Fun stuff! Here's pictures courtesy of Tep since I forgot the memory for my camera.

...Do YOU Have a Dirty Mind?!...
I got this from this site and putting it here cause I thought it was interesting...hah Enjoy!
Take a look at the picture first...
So, what did you see?
Now proceed and read below to find an explanation of what you really saw.
I'm sure you will find this very interesting.
Research has shown that young children cannot identify the intimate couple because they do not have prior memory associated with such scenario. What they will see are the nine dolphins.
Additional note: This is a test to determine if you already have a corrupted mind. If it's hard for you to find the dolphins within 3 seconds, your mind is indeed corrupted.

...Happy Birthday Ate Love!...
Happy Birthday to my Ate Love! ;) What did I do today? I was awakened by a phone call from the parentals around 8 and then went back to sleep. I then drove ate and her friend Ferdie from NJ to the outlet where the three of us went shopping somewhat, chatted, and then headed to Lolitas to get some food. Then sang karaoke w/ them and went to church w/ kuya at 5. I finished up the laundry and good thing we finished cleaning the house yesterday morning cause then we'll just be lazy to do it today. Anyways, I guess that's all! I'm still trying to push myself to working harder in school..;/ My lazy ass is getting bad. Well, hope you had a Great Weekend!! ;) Take Care! GNO next week! Sorry about some of the misunderstanding ladies!

...The Passion of The Christ...
My dad printed this review out and told me to read it prior to me viewing the movie. I stumbled upon it again in someone's site and I wanted to post it here to share with everyone and hope that for the people who has not seen the movie will be encouraged to do so. ;)
This is Jody Dean's review of "The Passion of The Christ".
Jody is a CBS anchor.
There've been a ton of emails and forwards floating around recently from those who've had the privilege of seeing Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ" prior to its actual release. I thought I'd give you my reaction after seeing it last night. The screening was on the first night of "Elevate!" , a weekend-long seminar. It was shown after several speakers had taken the podium. It started around
9 and finished around 11...so I reckon the film is about two hours in length. Frankly, I lost complete track of time - so I can't be sure. I want you to know that I started in broadcasting when I was 13-years-old.
I've been in the business of writing, performing, production, and broadcasting for a long time. I've been a part of movies, radio, television, stage and other productions - so I know how things are done. I know about soundtracks and special effects and make-up and screenplays. I think I've seen just about every kind of movie or TV show ever made - from extremely inspirational to extremely gory. I read a lot, too - and have covered stories and scenes that still make me wince. I also have a vivid imagination, and have the ability to picture things as they must have happened - or to anticipate things as they will be portrayed. I've also seen an enormous amount of footage from Gibson's film, so I thought I knew what was coming.
But there is nothing in my existence - nothing I could have read, seen, heard, thought, or known - that could have prepared me for what I saw on screen last night. This is not a movie that anyone will "like". I don't think it's a movie anyone will "love". It certainly doesn't "entertain". There isn't even the sense that one has just watched a movie. What it is, is an experience - on a level of primary emotion that is scarcely comprehensible. Every shred of human preconception or predisposition is utterly stripped away. No one will eat popcorn during this film. Some may not eat for days after they've seen it. Quite honestly, I wanted to vomit.
It hits that hard. I can see why some people are worried about how the film portrays the Jews. They should be worried. No, it's not anti-Semitic. What it is, is entirely
shattering. There are no "winners". No one comes off looking "good" – except Jesus. Even His own mother hesitates. As depicted, the Jewish leaders of Jesus' day merely do what any of us would have done - and still do. They protected their perceived "place" - their sense of safety and security, and the satisfaction of their own "rightness".
But everyone falters. Caiphus judges. Peter denies. Judas betrays. Simon the Cyrene balks. Mark runs away. Pilate equivocates. The crowd mocks. The soldiers laugh. Longinus still stabs with his pilus. The centurion still carries out his orders. And as Jesus fixes them all with a glance, they still turn away. The Jews, the Romans, Jesus' friends - they all fall. Everyone, except the Principal Figure. Heaven sheds a single, mighty tear - and as blood and water spew from His side, the complacency of all creation is eternally shattered.
The film grabs you in the first five seconds, and never lets go. The brutality, humiliation, and gore is almost inconceivable - and still probably doesn't go far enough. The scourging alone seems to never end, and you cringe at the sound and splatter of every blow - no matter how steely your nerves. Even those who have known combat or prison will have trouble, no matter their experience - because this Man was not conscripted. He went willingly, laying down His entirety for all.
It is one thing for a soldier to die for his countrymen. It's something else entirely to think of even a common man dying for those who hate and wish to kill him. But this is no common man. This is the King of the Universe. The idea that anyone could or would have gone through such punishment is unthinkable - but this Man was completely innocent, completely holy - and paying the price for others.
He screams as He is laid upon the cross, "Father, they don't know. They don't know..." What Gibson has done is to use all of his considerable skill to portray the most dramatic moment of the most dramatic events since the dawn of time. There is no escape. It's a punch to the gut that puts you on the canvas, and you don't get up. You are simply confronted by the horror of what was done- what had to be done - and why. Throughout the entire film, I found myself apologizing.
What you've heard about how audiences have reacted is true. There was no sound after the film's conclusion. No noise at all. No one got up. No one moved. The only sound one could hear was sobbing. In all my years of public life, I have never heard anything like that. I told many of you that Gibson had reportedly re-shot the ending to include more "hope" through the Resurrection? That's not true. The Resurrection
scene is perhaps the shortest in the entire movie - and yet it packs a punch that can't be quantified. It is perfect. There is no way to negotiate the meaning out of it. It simply asks, "Now, what will you do?"
I'll leave the details to you, in the hope that you will see the film – but one thing above all stands out, and I have to tell you about it. It comes from the end of Jesus' temptations in the wilderness - where the Bible says Satan left him "until a more opportune time". I imagine Satan never quit tempting Christ, but this film captures beyond words the most opportune time. At every step of the way, Satan is there at Jesus' side – imploring Him to quit, reasoning with Him to give up, and seducing Him to surrender.
For the first time, one gets an heart-stopping idea of the sense of madness that must have enveloped Jesus - a sense of the evil that was at His very elbow. The physical punishment is relentless - but it's the sense of psychological torture that is most overwhelming. He should have quit. He should have opened His mouth. He should have called 10,000 angels. No one would have blamed Him. What we deserve is obvious. But He couldn't do that. He wouldn't do that. He didn't do that. He doesn't do that. It was not and is not His character. He was obedient, all the way to the cross - and you feel the real meaning of that phrase in a place the human heart usually doesn't dare to go.
You understand that we are called to that same level of obedience. With Jesus' humanity so irresistibly on display, you understand that we have no excuse. There is no place to hide. The truth is this: Is it just a "movie"? In a way, yes. But it goes far beyond that, in a fashion I've never felt - in any forum.
We may think we "know". We know nothing. We've gone 2,000 years - used to the idea of a pleasant story, and a sanitized Christ. We expect the ending, because we've heard it so many times. God forgive us. This film tears that all away. It's is as close as any of us will ever get to knowing, until we fully know. Paul understood. "Be urgent, in and out of season."
Luke wrote that Jesus reveals Himself in the breaking of the bread. Exactly. "The Passion Of The Christ" shows that Bread being broken.

...Mastercard...
Olive laughed at 10:11 PM
For Laughs!! ;)
Well, I'm actually updating, but now that I am, I don't remember anything I did. Ack! Maybe because it's late at night and I should be sleeping? But eh..where to start..I guess I'll just talk about the things I remembered. Saturday, I dragged Buman's ass to watch the Mariachi Symphony w/ me downtown. Went to pick him up @ Maeloves(his 2nd home), got food @ McD's and saw the girl how has a HUGE crush on him! haha..she's cute though! lOl...you can see how happy or whatever you call it when you see someone you like thing..hahah. Then we headed downtown, got $7 parking, springkled, and found our way in the Symphony Hall. Everything was good until the 2 strikes.
The place was pretty so I take a camera and take some pictures and put it away and a few mins. later, someone comes up to us saying cameras aren't allowed..minutes after that another person comes up to us asking about the camera. Sheesh..made it seem like it's SoOo secretive and crap. Buman and I made a joke saying there was a sniper there on a lookout for people who was doing stuff wrongfully. So then our 2nd strike came up after the intermission. We got Pringles and on our way back up, the lady didn't stop Buman while he was holding a small can of $2 Pringles when she stopped him from taking his drink from McDs earlier on. So we sat back down our seats and started eating the Pringles. An usher passed up looking @ Buman and a few mins. later I notice him talking to the other lady and then what do u know! He walks up to us and tells Buman he can't eat there either and that if he wanted to, he can go to the lobby. That wasn't so bad that he said that, but what made it bad is that he acussed/assumed that Buman snuck the Pringles in by hiding it in his sweater that's why the lady didn't see him take it up. So ack! whatever man! Maybe just because we were young, Asian, and a minority? eck. Who cares though. It was my first Symphony Orchestra event and the performance was good. We got too much for what we paid for though. But thanks Buman for letting me drag you there! I know it was a torture.
Anyways, mañana mis padres van a Hawaii para su aniversario. Safe trip, have fun and they said I might be followed...Yuck!. Not much happened this week, except for the "ticket" I got from the parking lot. Jerome and Azel are PUNKS! hahah. Work's slow...I'm still working on trying to study harder for my Chem class ;/ I feel like dropping it..but NO! ack!. I guess that's all for now! Take Care!
